from one color to the next.

both of these images are from martha stewart weddings... the woman is a genius. even if the only thing she does is find the craftiest and most talented people to work for her ;)

summer is officially over next week. fall is here.

to me, it is a little bitter sweet.

i hate to see summer end, but there is something about fall that gets me every time. i don't know if its the changing color of the leaves, the new clothes to get excited about, the great weather, the anticipation for the holidays.... it's a very enjoyable time of year.

one way that i'll be carrying that last bit of summer with me this season is through the use of color, or the blending of one color to the next.

in the last issue of her magazine, martha shows us how to dip-dye just about anything to achieve this look, on you or around your house.

i plan on trying this project out. if it is a success, i'll let you know how it goes :)

nothing like an end of summer tomato salad. pure bliss.

ombre scarf, image unknown
i have recently purchased a new scarf like this one. it goes from white, to light pink, to pink to orange. love it. still a little too warm to wear it. if you are interested, i found it at gap.

call it color gradiation, dip-dyeing, or ombre... i like it and i feel like sporting it on me and in my house.
it's like a classy spin on the whole hippie tie-dye job :)

  1. I definitely tore out the photo of the pink flowers (#2) when I was planning my wedding and looking for inspiration. Martha Stewart Weddings was my favorite wedding magazine!
